As a prior Coastie (1990-1998) I appreciate the work and writing you are doing to highlight the essential work that this little known and recognized sea service does each and every day for our Nation and our World.

I had the privilege to take flight attendant training as part of a special program at work. I was amazed at the amount of time they spent on drills for emergency preparedness and first aid response. Their highest priority is the safety of everyone on board their aircraft. Although they certainly are not the coast guard, they definitely are first responders and the main line of "defense" in passenger aircraft crises. I'm grateful to know they are prepared!

Hi B and Rick -

Thanks for your service Rick and, B, thanks for sharing the cool story about your flight attendant experience. You can't beat preparation when the rubber meets the road.

All the best -
