Great post Scott! Really liked this one and the reminder that in business, relationships are important, and reinforcing and improving those relationships takes constant diligence.

Good Comparison Scott -

You make several really good points, (but you already knew that!) At the end of the day, I believe it is about Appreciation - and showing it!

My experience is that most clients don't feel that we appreciate their business. To them, it is just another client in our system, and once we have "conquered" them, the relationship turns south.

I often would state that a business relationship can be compared to Dating.

First, you have the "Courting" of your client. (In some cases, it is a BLIND DATE!)

Next is that feeling out period - is this person the right fit for me?

Next is the "sealing of the deal" (so to speak) And everyone is in 7th Heaven.

But then the tough part comes - the Day To Day, the Problems - Are you there for them when there is a "lull in the action."

It's at those times, when you need to be there for your client - to show you care about them and their business, even when there is no money on the table.

It goes along way to building a solid relationship - and not having to get those Hallmark Cards!

Thanks for the Post
